Description
No collection for this special creation...so, how about FLORAL!?!
No, I am not an abstract painter!! HOWEVER, all good art has an abstract foundation, that pulls the eye around the canvas, be it from shapes, color or value, or even detail (or the lack there of!)......I try to use all sources that come into my awareness, to learn from. At some point or other, I had this one painting that I was going to burn....each spring I do a "studio cleaning" and burn all the bad paintings that I may have accumulated over the previous year!.... Well, a few years back, I had this one large painting, that in itself was a total bomb. As I was carrying it outside to the burn pile, I looked at sections, and realized that within the whole, there were all these nice little jewels of color and form!!! I took the painting back to the studio and spent several days, adding more paint, scraping, pushing, until something interesting was happening....... I let the THICK paint dry for the next 6 months, and took two "Ls" and started cropping the canvas, and ended up cutting it into a number of small, jewel like paintings! This is just one of that experiment!.....SO, the secret, is to realize that even tho you think you may have "bombed", take that piece and play with it, open your mind's doors to new possibilities!! One never knows what jewels you may find!

Thanks James for sharing... yea, this was originally I guess a landscape...that "bombed"...then I had all this paint, so played with that for hours...then ended up, with "spots" of beauty, but a "mess" on the whole...so went one more step... Rather fun, and relaxing!!! AND what a refreshing way to clean a palette!!! BUT unlike your "success" of marketing...still own all of them... which is fine with me, cause they still bring me a lot of enjoyment... almost like having kids!!! A joy to create, and a joy to "behold"...BUT, not always easy on the purse strings!!! (keeping them under one roof!!!) LOL!!!
